The Golden Retreiver is a hardy well built dog with a golden wavy coat. It was bred to retreive water fowl. It has a keen scenting capability, great gun dog, calm, loyal, making it a great family dog.
Grooming Requirements
Comb and brush on a regular basis paying attention to the undercoat. Bathe sparingly and only when necessarry.
Breed History
These attractive dogs were developed in the second half of the century. They were bred in Scotland by Lord Tweedmouth. It was first developed by crossing a flat coat dog with a tweed water spaniel (extinct).
