Temperment /Training Tips
Few Dogs are more playful by nature than Boxers and they are ideal for a home with bigger children, as they are usually too boisterous to live with toddlers. Boxers need adequate space for their active nature. They are highly affectionate and loyal companions, and can be trained easily. In fact they have been used for police work in various countries. Their short coat requires little attention. Sadly, Boxers are often short-lived, being susceptible to a wide range of tumors.
Grooming Requirements
Very low maintenance, brush on a daily basis, bathe every 4 weeks.
Breed History
The history of the Boxer dates back to the 1830's. Among the breeds that contributed to its ancestry, it is thought that the Bulldog was responsible for the white color patterns. Great danes and French Bulldogs might have been used for its development. It started gaining some worldwide appeal after World War I.
